Obverse: "M OTACIL SEVERA AVG" Diademed and draped bust right, on crescent Mint and Year: Rome - undated (AD 246-248) Weight: 4.05 grams Die axis: 175 degrees Rarity: unlisted Reverse: "AEQVITAS AVGG" Aequitas (Equity, Fair dealing) standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae. Note: This coin is a modern fake. The reverse die has been used on a number of Gordian III pieces documented in FORVM. The obverse die is also a documented fake in Forum but with a different reverse. Thanks again to Thibaut for bringing it to my attention. |

Obverse: "MARCIA OTACIL SEVERA AVG" Diademed and draped bust right, on crescent Mint and Year: Unknown - undated (after AD 249) Weight: 4.01 grams Die axis: 345 degrees Rarity: unlisted Reverse: "AEQVITAS AVGG" Aequitas (Equity, Fair dealing) standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae. Note: This coin is probably an ancient counterfeit. The obverse die is the same as the "IVNO REGINA" coin and both reverses are common for Herennia Etruscilla. As this obverse die has been used for reverses issued under Trajan Decius, it was probably struck during or after his reign. |

Obverse: "M OTACIL SEVERA AVG" Diademed and draped bust right, on crescent Mint and Year: Rome - undated (AD 246-248) Weight: 3.51 grams Die axis: 185 degrees Rarity: common Reverse: "CONCORDIA AVGG" Concordia (Concord, Harmony) seated left, holding patera and double cornucopiae. Note: This coin is an interesting oddity. It appears to be an overstrike of another, earlier, coin. See on the reverse where the new strike did not completely obliterate the old legend. |
