Egyptian Eye of Horus
Amulet, 700 - 300 B.C. length: 2.6 cm width: 2.0 cm Egyptians work amulets like this as a good luck charm. The Eye of Horus amulet was believed to be powerful protection against evil. The eye being offered is made of faience, crushed quartz, that was made into a paste. Although most of the blue coloration has worn away with the years, this amulet is still wearable and still may hold its protective powers. |

Egyptian Spindle Whorl,
1600 - 1100 B.C. diameter: 3.8 cm thickness: 0.6 cm weight: 9.67 grams The whorl was attached to a post and then used to spin wool into yarn. This whorl is of fine style with carved lions around the shoulder. Whorls were often placed in the tombs of the owner to continue to work for them in the next life. A very nice piece of history. |
