          note:  Excellent specimen with lovely olive patina, smooth fields and good detail.

          note:  Nice bronze highlights showing through chocolate-brown patina.  Minor roughness throughout.

                     Asklepios standing facing, head left, with serpent-entwined staff.
          note:  Interesting patina caused during time buried and its position in relation to dirt and other objects.  It could be stripped and repatinated but I think the dual patina adds character.  The green is not as pronounced in hand unless under bright lights but still quite visible.

          note:  Do you clean coins yourself? If so, you may have seen many coins with this level of detail.  Rough, pitted but attributable.  A true budget friendly specimen.

                     Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right.

                    Two clasped hands.
          note:  Great coin for this scarce Emperor. Sharp strike, well centered, good detail and old collection toning.  Balbinus ruled for almost 100 days before being killed by Praetorian Guardsmen.

                     Two clasped hands.
          note:  AD 238 was a real bad year to be Emperor.  He served the same 97 days as Balbinus.  Another great coin with sharp detail and no visible wear.  This one is a real prize.
